Ampeg PF500 + 210 - Loud Enough?

Fell in love at GC with the tone on this amp. If you've got one, how well does it hold up in a band mix? 300 watt at 8 ohms seems like it should....but just to be sure. My guitar player is using a 30w orange head and my drummer hits hard.

Well I'm in a band with a loud drummer and a guitarist with a Marshall stack. I have the PF-350 and a single PF-115HE cabinet and although I do have to crank the volume and gain up most of the way I can be heard just fine. I would imagine that the PF-500 would be even louder with 50 more watts at 8 ohms than the the 350. You may want to add a second cabinet eventually to get the full 500 watts.

^ 50 watts isn't going to be noticable at all... get another 210 cab if your band is that loud....

What I am saying is that the PF-350 works for me with only one cabinet, so I would imagine the PF-500 would work just as well if not better. The 50 watt difference is not the issue. Yes, a second cabinet would be the ideal setup. I'm in the process of adding a second PF-115 to my rig and it should sound killer!

Might get more input over at the Amps forum.

For an average player a 2x10 will not take you too far. A 4x10 is pretty much a minimum. I use a pair of Acme B2 2x10s in a vertical stack. It's done every thing I need of it. Get a second matching 2x10 cabinet.
