Ampeg Pn-410hlf vs. GK 410 RHB

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking about buying GK 1001rb-II head and a cab to it and I have a dilema between Ampeg Pn-410hlf and GK 410 RHB.

I'm playing punk/grunge/stoner rock/psychodelic rock with pick and often some distortion.

My only concern about GK head combined with GK cab (I don't really care about the bi aming system) is if the sound won't get too clear, sterile, cold?
That is why I wanted to combine the GK head with the Ampeg Pn-410hlf to get some "warmth" from it.
Do you think it's a good idea?
Also if someone could give me some opinions about those two cabs (Ampeg Pn-410hlf and GK 410 RHB). Is one of the clearly better or?
Which one would fit more to dirty pick playing?

Thanks for any suggestions !!!!

If the pro neo is anything like the svt hlf, I would advise strongly against it as it was nothing but scooped boomy low end. 410 RBH are great! And have nice fat warm low mids.

The pro neo series cabs are very different from the svt hlf ......modern sounding, punchy, warm, clear......I have no problem hearing my 7 string across the entire octave range......downside they r somewhat pricey ......but I don't have them all for no reason .......just my .02.....

Hymm doesn't really help me too chose xD

Does anyone have some recording of those cabs or somethin' ?
Because in my local shops I only have the SVT 410hlf and GK neo series so I cn't really compare those two cabs :/
But I'm pretty sure that they're one of the best 410 on the market (at least that's what I heard) and that's why I would like to have on of those to my 1001rb-II :P
