Ampeg pr410hlf Speakon connector...

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok...so the buddy of mine i picked up this cab from told me that to use the full 600w RMS power, i need to connect the amp to the cab via the Speakon connector.

Few questions:
1. There is no manual available online...so, i cant tell why thats true. Anybody have one of these?

2. If i purchase an amp that puts out 600w...do i now need to make sure it has a speakon out? Seems like i would...

Thanks in advance...

you can get 1/4" to speakon cables no problem. but more often than not, a 600w or more amp will have speakons to prevent shock hazards. i don't think that's true about having to use them to get 600w capability out of them but i wouldn't use anything but speakons for an amp that does 500w or over after hearing a couple horror stories on here. even a light jolt is still pretty freaking miserable.

Oh ok, so it could be solved with a quick adapter, basically.
