Ampeg Protaflex?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone have any experience with these? I'm thinking of selling my Hartke 3500 and LabSystems 410HLC and getting this:

http://www.ampeg.com/products/portaflex/pf-350/ < head

http://www.ampeg.com/products/portaflex/pf-210he/ < cab

Your thoughts? I'd use it as a practice amp and for gigging until I can afford an SVT and an 810 (and still keep it for smaller venues after that), but I like the idea of it as we'll be touring in a van soon and it would use a lot less room.

Also, a little off topic, but what would be a fair price to sell my Hartke and LabSystems for? The head is about 4 years old and in near perfect condition, the cab is probably ten years old and also in near perfect condition (and rare these days).

They're just releasing now, so not many people have experience with them. A few have played them at NAMM and said they were pretty good. There have been a few threads talking about them recently, look for portaflex threads and should find some good info. As far as value of your current gear - that can only be asked by supporting members as per forum rules, but either way your best bet is to search ebay completed listings.

Become a supporting member ( for the perks!), wait until others have bought the new ampeg products. Its just like buying a new cars model the first years. Why be the first one with the issues ? You could always just jump up and get an 810E with a big Ampeg Head or such, no issues there, Good luck .
