Ampeg replacement speaker questions.

Sign in to disble this ad
I need to replace 2 speakers for my Ampeg cabs. I called a service center and Ampeg already, but need to ask a few questions. The one speaker I need is part# 86-810-16 80w 16ohm 10" for my 1510HE. Ampeg no longer carries this and has no replacement. Any suggestions on one to replace it with. The next one is the 10" 86-032-01. The problem here, is the new Ampeg replacement is a 100w driver. The old SVT410HE I have is rated at a total of 200w @ 8ohms. That would mean the rest of the drivers are 50w, right? Can I run the 100w without any problems? The service guys says I can, but I kinda want to get as close to the existing drivers as possible. Anyone know of a replacement that would work. Ampeg wants $87 for that one. I hate even putting money into these because I am "maybe" planning on getting a new lighter cab, but I can always use these for bigger stuff down the road if needed. Besides, I'd like to hear how the 1510HE sound paired with a new 210 Avatar. Anyway, thanks for the help.

Thanks for the hookup. Looks like they have what I need, but sent them an email anyway. I wanna find out if the B810's will be OK to just replace the one. Might have to go with the other direct replacement for the SVT stuff. I'm tempted to just get 4 B810's and have all new though, but am still trying to downsize and that would put that on hold. Looks like they can hook me up with the replacement for the 1510 cab too. Thanks!
