Ampeg Reverberocket R12R

Is this a bass or guitar amp?

I found an amazing price for one of these today, and I'm thinking about getting it. They man listed it as a bass amp, but I read somewhere that it is for guitar?

Does anybody know? And if it is for bass, how does it sound?

If I put a bass speaker in it, would it work with a bass though?

50w guitar amp. I've got the 2x12 version. Pretty cool amp but I wouldn't use it for bass. Open back cab.

You could if you want no bass response at all and don't wanna be heard over a drummer and wanna sound like $h!t. You could use it if you wanna sound like a bad guitarist.

Don't hurt it!
It will suck for bass but can be fantastic for the right guitar player.
Amazing tone with a Rickenbacker turned up loud.
Assuming it's unmodified and working well, and, if you can buy it cheap, do so.
They generaly sell for between $400 and $800 depending on year, model, and condition.
I've been looking for a bargain on one for years as a friend had one when we were kids.

Ampeg Reverberocket R-212R?

I have a line on an Ampeg Reverberocket R-212R guitar amp that looks like it is only a few years old. The speakers are labeled: "Ampeg", and it has 6L6 output tubes. I found a schematic, and I see some TL074 op amps in the signal chain, so it is not a faithful reproduction of the original. Does anyone here have any experience with these? I am planning to try my hand at six string guitar, and wonder if this would be worth looking at. The asking price is 550$. So if you have an opinion, or worthwhile information on a late model, (non-vintage) Reverberocket 212 guitar amp, I would like to hear what you have to say.

Thanks.
