Ampeg Rocket B100r appreciation?

I remember when these came out. They sounds so dang good, even my girlfriend at the time said I never sound that good at home (playing through the b100. Anyways I find one used at GC for 300$ and snatch it up. Man it is the best sounding combo I have ever heard, what is it? Very similar to why I love the ampeg 810. Is it a heavy mid rage? Blows markbass combos away "and I really liked those"

So who else here loves these things? And why do they sound so damn good

They sound so damn good because they're inspired by the B-15 and tuned to sound very much like an early model B-15.

I have a B100R, and a B15. The B100R does an OK impression of the B15. And it is a very nice amp.

I have owned several. I kept my USA made Ampeg B100R, and will never let it go. EXCELLENT vintage style bass amp!

Best little amp I've owned, and use it quite frequently alongside a B15

Best solid state amp that came out of the St. Louis Music era of Ampeg. Too bad the the B series solid state combos and heads of the same era, never got that magical preamp.

got a really good tone out of church owned B100R this morning. Has to go a little to keep up with a loud drummer though.

Just handed down the 50R to the kid. First practice amp made that sounded like a real amp.
