Has anyone on here tried this Ampeg stack? It's a B2RE head with a B410HLF cab. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. Thanks.
I use an Ibanez SR700 or a Fender Jazz usually and play mostly classic rock. Sometimes the "old" country using a Fender MIA Precision. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ampeg-B2...27-i1145700.gc

Chances are it would be fine for what you're playing. I have a classic SVT-CL now. No comparison, of course.

I owned the model below it (B2R) and it always seemed liked it was never loud enough - even through a 810 it had barely any headroom. The cabinet is pretty much a beginner/budget cab and I think you would better off buying something used. Search the threads on the site and find something more worth the money.
Can the rig work for you? Yes. But I suggest going towards Gallien Krueger products and trying out as much gear as possible. |

He plays a mix of classic rock and country, and pretty much dials it in based on the suggested settings in the manual. But when I've used a B2R/B2RE or an SVT-350H before, they got the job done but I wasn't overly impressed by them. Personally I would look more at a good used 3-Pro if you are looking for something that's comparable- but offers more tone and features.

| | | | I was once looking at exactly that setup a few years ago. After trying it, I can say that it's definitely lower-grade stuff. The head and cab both sound quite sterile, and they're also kinda expensive for the sound quality you get. Not a good value in my opinion. The B2RE cost more than the Gallien-Krueger 400RB-IV (now discontinued), which was a way better head. Once i switched over to the Classic Series Ampeg next to it, with said GK 400RB-IV on top of it, I immediately thought "now that's more like it". I ended up picking up a used, older GK 400RB and a used, older Ampeg SVT-210, which has worked out great for me so far. If you're looking for a solid-state setup, I'd say skip the Ampeg B-Series and go whether with the Ampeg MicroVR stack or a lower-powered GK head with the MicroVR cab. |

I have only played it a few times since I picked it up but I am happy with it. I honestly agree with the other members posts as it being underpowered but seing as you are going to run a 4X10 You might as well consider a bigger cab or better head
