Ampeg SVT-15E vs Fender 115 PRO?

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone here compared the sound and performance of current Fender 115 PRO Cabinet to Ampeg SVT-15E? I guess the Ampeg utilises a regular Eminence Legend CB158, but the Fender speaker is supposedly "Special Design", whatever that means... At least it is a cast frame unit, and by the 400W continuous it is probably at least a 3" coil and a bit beefier than the Ampeg.
Any references to Kappa 15C (4 Ohm Marshall, Orange, EBS etc) is also welcome, since I am (just too) familiar with the sound of Kappa 15C.

I have never seen the Fender PRO-series cabinets in Swedish MI shops, but the Ampeg box pops up now and then. By the way, it seems Fender has upgraded the 810 PRO at least once, with a slightly different port configuration and increased power handling?

I really like my Ampeg SVT-15E, but I will admit, it might not be what a lot of people are looking for, especially with the 200w rating (though it certainly works for me).
