Ampeg SVT 18E?

There's an 8 ohm 18" listed for about 150 (at the moment) on E-bay...with an RMS hadling of 175 watts. Isn't that kind of low, for a subwoofer? I'd think something like that would need a lot more power to produce lows.

(I'm thinkin about putting in a bid for this later, if I can talk my folks into it...then again, maybe not...)

I had one of those for awhile. Great sounding cab, even by itself believe it or not. I think it was meant to be matched with an Ampeg 210 or 410, 200 watt cab powered by a 350 watt amp like the svt 200T or Svt 350 H or B2r. That way each cab would get 175 watts. I used it with an Ampeg 410 cab and it really kicked out the low end. They pop up on ebay every once in awhile. If you can get it for $250 or less, Go for it.

The SVT-18 was the subwoofer type model. Its cab was 22.5 deep and was a 500 watt/4ohm model.

The SVT-18E was more of a full range type model. It's cab was only 16" deep and had the 8 ohm/175 watt driver.

+1 it's not a subwoofer, just a pretty big full range bass cab. The diameter of a spkr is not an indication of how "low it will go".
