Ampeg SVT-2 Pro balanced line out

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I have an Ampeg SVT-2 Pro and I want to use the XLR balanced line out in a live situation and for recording.

I plugged it in my console at home and the level seems to be very low (microphone level instead of line). Is this normal?
Also the sound level is lower in POST mode than in PRE mode.

Any other SVT-2 users out there could help me confirm if this is a problem or if the amp is made like that?

Thank you!

Nicolas

Most DI outputs are designed to be at mic level, not line level. There are exceptions, and some are switchable between the two; but in general mic level is normal.

As far as different levels pre and post, that could be because of your EQ or compression settings.
