Ampeg SVT-350h Head

Hi guys,

I have one of these heads, and am looking to sell it in the near future. I was wondering wether anyone could give me some advise on how much it's worth?

Obviously mine is second hand, but even their RRP when new will help me knock up an estimate!

Here's a pick of the head:

Cheers, Tom Barlow.

I would say maybe $150.00 and that may be pushing it a little..... the Ampeg SVT 350 & 450 do not get a lot of love around here....

I beg to differ. I'd say twice that at least. 300 to 400 is the going rate.

Not well liked, I don't like them either but the TB classifieds and ebay have them for that. I bopught and sold a couple for USD 400 a couple of years back but they were mint condition. Guitar center used gear has them for around that.

In the future, pricing out used gear is pretty simple. Look up the item on Ebay, Guitar Center, Craigslist.org, then check TB. That will give you a pretty decent view of what the item will go for.

Here is what I found on GuitarCenter.com

http://www.guitarcenter.com/In-Store...0H&o=5&ipp=100

The going rate is $300 to $400. The $400 model is most likely in great shape. Put yours at $400 and see what happens.

I would ask between 2-300 for it, but I noticed that 5 of the EQ sliders are broken off, so your gonna need to come down on your price to cover for the cost of repairing that, by around $75 I would think.

I would never have one, but gigged one once (the 350) at an outdoor show. Just plugged in and played. Worked good for me. Not very "Ampeggy" as I recall though.

It doesn't matter what you're trying to sell, GC or Music Go Round price minus a hundred bucks or so is right about where realistic craigslist/classified add prices come from.

I think GC and Music Go Round will offer like 150-175 for them...and turn around and sell them for like $350.

They get the job done and are reliable in my experience, but sound sterile. I gigged mine a couple of times and had no issues but that. My EBS valvedrive aleviated that quite a but but I sold the svt350 anyway.

I absolutely hated my Ampeg 350H, but it was reliable ...and it looked good. Nothing beats knowing that you'll have reliably bad tone.

Thanks, a lot for your help!

The picture isn't of the exact head i'm selling, I just got it off google images to save me taking loadsa snaps!

I'm also having some technical troubles with the head at the moment. It turns on, but is delivering no signal at all. All the LEDS are working and I checked the fuse In the back between the fan and the mains input and it's fine.

Anyone have any suggestions of what the problem could be?
