Ampeg SVT-410HLF Replacement Suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
I've finally come to the conclusion that Ampeg amps are just not for me. Great stuff but for what I play it's just too boomy and not modern enough in reference to tone. I sold my SVT4-Pro and replaced it with a Carvin B1500 and the difference is absolutely incredible. So now I'm looking to sale the 410HLF but what to replace it with at it's resale value has me wondering. The replacement cab will be used 95% of the time for church in the band pit so weight isn't a big deal. We play everthing from Urban Gospel to Hillsong plus a lot of plays/productions that call for some of everything from swing, bebop, country, etc. FYI, I used to own the Eden 410XLT and that tone came extremely close to what I'm looking for.

Now here's the real killer, I recently brought my Avatar B210 to church and played it for a couple of weeks paired with the B1500 and the whole band loved the tone. So in addition to your 410 ideas, what would your 210 suggestions be?

Sounds like to Avatar B210s work for you. get two of those. Is this more of a personal monitor in the pit, monitor for everyone in the pit, or do you want the audience to hear it?

All three, Personal monitoring, audience volume and I have to compete with two guitars (one on either side of me), keyboards and I'm set right next to the drummer, plus I use an Aviom and IEM's. No room to add two 210 cabs, it's very tight and we play very loud. It's a huge church so we can get away with pretty high volumes. The volume on my Carvin is normally set between 12-1 O'Clock.

I honestly think you guys are missing the point of the Aviom system, or maybe I am? I guess you are only using them for vocals? So why won't 2 2x10s work where the 410 currently is?
