Ampeg SVT-450 BUZZ

This may be a rookie question.... I play both a Fender P and a Schecter Stiletto Custom 5 Bass through my Ampeg SVT-450 head into my Ampeg Classic 610 cab. The majority of the time the rig sounds great and I have no problems, but sometimes, mostly when playing in places like theatres or gymnasiums, there is a buzz that comes through the speakers and ultimately into the house. When I run the bass DI, there is no buzz, so there must be an issue with the head. I'm guessing the problem is the lighting and dirty power in these type of places, but I dont know for sure. I just wanted to post and see if anyone else has had the same problems. Is there a remedy to this problem. I love my rig, but I hate the BUZZ. Help me fix this!!! Thanks!!

Yes, it sounds like bad grounding. Not much can be done, it's the enviornment.

+1 Try to get an isolated circuit for your backline at gigs. Make sure it is separate from lighting stuff for sure.

You could test your 120v. source for ground faults with one of these:

(most hardware/home center stores stock-em)
