Ampeg Svt-5 Pro?

Sign in to disble this ad
A guy is selling an Ampeg Svt-5 Pro for $525. I don't know that much about these heads, but any thoughts about this can help a ton. Also, what cab would be good to buy with this head?

It's the Sheehan SVP-BSP preamp in a head. It's heavy. That's all I know.

Good deal I would think. Cab choice has a lot to do with the music you play and what your tonal goals are. But, IMO, there is nothing wrong with 8x10, 2x15, or 4x10HLF. Cheers.

I ran an SVT5 with an 810 for a couple of years. Good head, the grind channel is kinda cool sounding. I'm trying to remember if you can blend to two channels or not, it's been years since I sold mine.
$525 is a great price, new these used to be priced just below the SVT4 pro

Hey,
well I help at a lot of churches and some other side stuff, but mainly churches. I am looking for something that has some push and some crisp tone, if that helps any.

Well if I understand push as lows and crisp as highs then the 4x10HLF is a good choice. Is does lows WAY better than a 8x10E and has a tweeter for the highs as well. It is a 4 Ohm cab and will take a lot of power. Cheers.

I had one for a few years, but sold it because it was pretty heavy. About 55 pounds. The tone was amazing, and had a bunch of power options. GREAT deal for around $500, as I paid over $1200 new, and that was a good deal at the time.
