I have a Rev. C00 and have gigged it hard, used it for provided backline for multi-band festivals, even. Not a shutdown, not a hiccup. Rumor has it that the Rev. D00 is even better.

The 7Pro is a great amp, period. Buy new from a good dealer with a decent return policy so if you do happen to have any problems it will be immediately be rectified.

I have had zero problems with mine, and most of the dozens of hater comments are the work of a few people who seem to have an agenda.

I would not buy one used personally so as to have the piece of mind of a proper return policy beyond just the Ampeg warranty. I would'nt personally buy any amp used unless it was all tube.

The compressor works perfectly for my needs and the mix control for the effects loop is great!! I like to run my digitech loop/ sampler into it for drum loops while I practice.

It seems to me that most of the haters of the amp have slipped back into the ether. Perhaps it is because the newer revisions are an improvement. I waited for rev. C to get mine and it's performed flawlessly. Many lighter weight high powered amps experience a plethora of issues at release.

I would think a new 7Pro would make you very happy if you're looking for some of that Ampeg growl and a lot of power!!

Count me in

I traded in a few odds and ends at GC this past weekend for the 15% off deal; I paid a mere pittance for this beauty. I love this amp! I may be in the minority, but I dig Ampeg's clean sound, and it sounds great through my 15/6. (C00 rev.)

I went to GC today and they had two in stock. One was the floor model (a C00 model) and the other was fresh in the box. I could have purchased the floor model for a nice discount but decided to go with the "fresh" SVT7-Pro. I looked at the box and saw that it was shipped in January, had the sales guy open the box and saw the "C00" label.....and it came home with me (along with a Mogami instrument cable that allows me to change basses with no problem to the amp).

No bad news to write here. It turned on, didn't give me any problems and certainly has enough of the Ampeg sound to make me happy with the purchase. My head rack has space for a Furman conditioner with the 2 lamps that can be pulled out (so that I can see knobs on a darker stage), a Korg DTR-1 tuner, then an empty space to make sure that the amp can breathe......and now the 7 Pro, which replaces an EA iAmp500. I use an Epifani UL2-210 (4 ohm) cab in my family room for practice and use an Epifani UL2-410 (4 ohm) cab for performance. From what I can tell, this amp works well with the 2x10. I'll write a more detailed report over the weekend, after I have time to put the amp to work.

Interesting. I asked to be counted and post a pic, nothing. The next post tells a buying story and gets a pat on the back.
Keep your secret handshakes to yourself. I already have the SVT-7 Pro. Thanks for your time.

You normally must first prove yourself by carrying your amp by the forearms over rice paper without tearing it, after snatching an AX7 tube from Jimmy's hand.

But since you have complained you have shown yourself unworthy and must now instead roam the earth for 7 years without PA support.

I did hit some problems with my 7 Pro. There has to be something wrong. It doesn't seem to allow me to sound just like some of the bassists I admire. There are no Wooten, Shannon, Bogert, Bromberg or D. Dunn settings I can find. In fact, I kept looking for the "Double Bass" knob and my 7 Pro doesn't seem to have it included.

Now to more serious stuff. I realize that there have been issues with the 7 Pro and, no, I'm not happy on a personal basis to know that the amp is made outside of the USA, but I needed an amp that could give me watts, easy portability and a sound that is at least close to the old SVT sound. The 7 Pro, for whatever failures it might have, is meeting all of those criteria for me. Maybe one day I'll have to write that mine shut down but I couldn't seem to get that to happen last night or today.......with either the Epifani UL-210 or 410.

The 7 Pro does NOT sound just like the tubed SVT, but neither did the 4 Pro. We're not at a point in available/affordable technology where a class "D" amp can fully mimic what tubes provide. Yet, the 7 Pro comes close enough that I am happy to use it in order to save my back from the hurt that would happen from lugging a heavy amp around. My personal opinion, for whatever that is worth, is that this is a fine amp that has an unmistakeable Ampeg sound and can push more air than I will ever need with minimal weight and cost. I literally had dust dropping down from the rafters of my basement ceiling when pushing the 410 with this amp and I had to back off. No shut down and no problems experienced with my new purchase. In fairness, if I do end up experiencing problems, I'll post about it here. Until or unless that happens, I'm a happy 7 Pro guy!

Here's my 7

Sorry for the camera phone image, really pleased although I've only just put this rig together, close enough to the svt tube sound for me, very clinical if needs be with the berg, no cutting out, and ticks many boxes, great price, lightweight, loads of tone, loads of growl, compression works, tube pre works, all good over here

I think so, it's early days still, but I've had svt cl with a 8x10 & 6x10 which were great rigs, and it keeps up with those with ease in a rock situation. Think it's heading for the No1 spot in my all time rigs
