Ampeg SVT Cabs

I just replace my cab to Ampeg SVT 410HE and Ampeg SVT 115E (don't think they are US one)

I heard many people say they both don't go along together but I think they sound pretty cool. I put the 4x10 at the bottom and the 1x15 on the top and I use a Little Mark head since i don't have cash to buy a Valve Ampeg head ......

Sound is pretty good, i turn the tweeter or horn off o nthe 4x10 and everything sound less harsh now which I like. Great low end and mid and decent top end as well. Not sure is it because I stack the 1x15 on the top so i can hear the low end without all muff up etc.

After couple of hours playing with the stack, I can't describe the sound but it is something very different (in a good way) compare to the Markbass 2x10 i use before.

Classic Ampeg tone i guess?

I've heard this setup and I think it sounds good too. Your ears wouldn't lie, would they?

Yup, if you're happy, that's all that matters. Having the 15 on top is a good idea, as it's not able to handle as much power as the 410, so your total output is limited by the smaller cab. The low end is most likely coming from BOTH cabs, as the idea that bigger speakers equals more low end is not true. Enjoy, it's all good stuff.

lol! no point in firing missiles...the dude likes his setup. the missiles, at least in my case, are reserved for those who don't like their setup and are trying to figure out why, or for those who are considering buying a certain rig, and i feel like they should be informed as to the sonic implications before they drop cash. but the guy likes his rig, so all i can do is give him:

Right on target, Jimmy. I think you just stated what several people were trying to express a few weeks ago. Information is good at the right time and place, but sometimes, you just have to realize that people like what they like and offer encouragement.

I agree but according to the Ampeg specs of his 2 cabs, the 15 does go lower

Yeah i'm quite please with the way the cab sound.

I'm kinda have a GAS on a Ampeg head now so is a matching ampeg stack.

Obviously the little Mark 250 i use at the moment is only 250watt so not much juice can pump onto the cab.

was thinking about Ampeg SVT450H or shall i go for the tube ampeg stuff instead?

or

buy a power amp and use the little mark as preamp to pump up the juice?

i'd at least go hybrid if you go ampeg. the lm is a good amp but not really made to plug into a power amp.
