Ampeg SVT-CL Love

Saturday night we played a benefit fundraiser gig to about 150 folks in a decent sized venue. Four band lineup and I volunteered <shudder> to provide the bass amplification as we we're playing last, and playing upright with this gig, I *need* the SVT to get the thump that I need for our sound. So throwing caution to the wind, I showed up with my amp and 410 cab, and sound check the electric players before checking my own. All I can say is it ROCKED. Tone was so sweet and rich and room-filling. I don't know if I made any converts, but I should have. My guitarist and I we're talking about how nice the Rickenbacker player sounded through it.

I guess I never fell out of love with it, but feel all the more satisified having been able to hear it from the audience perspective in a decent sized venue. It sure was nice to hear others sound so good out of it. The only downside is that I didn't record the evening to be able share around. Anyone out there had a similar experience?

As much as I dislike having to backline my gear (especially when it's the day before/day of the gig when I get the request) it's always good to step back and listen to how good it sounds.
