Ampeg SVT CL < Sunn solid state heads?

I have a 300 watt tube Ampeg SVT Classic with a matching 8x10. I love the tone, especially overdriven, of old Sunn bass amps like the Beta Bass, Concert/Coliseum Bass.
Would I yield enough power/volume with one of those, plus a slave into two 4x10's? I guess the tone of the Ampeg isn't really doing it for me.
