Ampeg SVT CL Tuner Out?

Sign in to disble this ad
I know that there is no tuner out option on SVT CL heads. I've got a tuner out on my B2RE backup solid state head though, and it's really nice. I keep the head in a road case with an 8 sp rack above it, and it would be wonderful if I could run my CL into the same tuner as the backup head.

Does anyone know if there is a way to wire a tuner out option on an SVT CL? Any mods that can be done for a tuner out option? Any chance the slave out or pre/power amp outs would work (that's probably a stretch)?

Just use the pre-amp out on the back. Using just the pre-out doesn't break the signal to the power amp so you should be fine.

Your right, he'd have to turn the master down for silent tuning.

That's alright. I think using the preamp out as a tuner out will work out for my needs. Thanks so much, everyone!

If you have a mute button on your tuner and ins/outs on the tuner you should be able to run the pre-out power-in as an effects loop with the tuner in the loop that way when you mute the tuner it should mute the signal to the power amp.

just an FYI im sure the OP has figured this out by now, but the pre out and slave out are both POST master pot. so if you turn the master down all the way, no signal is going to these jacks. I was very sad when I found that out

My SVT 2 pro has a tuner out but it doesn't work anymore, so I've been running it in the effects loop. It's been working fine, and I can hit the mute button on the tuner while I'm on stage for silent tuning.
