i think they're about the same except the 2 pro has a graphic eq, giving it a little more tone shaping.

Very similar sounding amps. The 2pro is more versatile because of the graphic. I would buy the CL because the 2pro requires a rack case, plus you need to be careful about getting the right kind of case to prevent overheating. Plus I think the CL looks cooler, but that's just subjective.

Get both, try them out for a day. Then send me the one you don't want!

A guy's gotta try, right?

Get outta here with the 4-pro! Go for the CL. Simplicity and tone!

The guts are the same.
One's wood, one's metal.

I have a CL because it looks so beastly sitting on an 810.

Either amps needs a 4 ohm cab, most 4x10 are 8ohms. Also, most people will recommend a sealed cab with a tube amp.

The Classic is just that; CLASSIC. I love mine because I just plug in and let fly. A graphic Eq on a bass head is for tweakers..

I like the 2-Pro, but would want to mount it in an actual head box like they did in the SLM days so it looked more like a "head" since I'm not into rack gear.

I got the 2pro because I love rack mounted gear. When I was touring a lot, it was so much easier to set up and break down rack gear. It can be a big investment, but a good shock-mounted, heavy duty road case goes a long way towards keeping a nice tube amp healthy and happy!
