Ampeg SVT "MTI" question

Sign in to disble this ad
I would like to know if there's possibility to switch the voltage to 240V? I know that these units were made in Japan in the 80s.
(Voltage in Japan is 100V, USA-120V, and Eur-240V.) I had '76 Magnavox SVT and the transformer was easily reconnected from 120 to 240V...

for the MTI, it is the same.
My tech rewired my MTI transformer from 110 (or 120V) to 230/240V.

Thanks.

But it was "rewiring" transformer or just connecting togehter cables that run from transformer to get 240V?

It the same operation I think your tech did it on you 76 magnavox, the transformer has the same design.
I'm not a tech, but I think it is just connecting together cables that run from transformer. My tech didn't touch the transformer to switch the voltage, but only the cables.

Thanks! That's really helpful. I've got MTI on the way
Had '76 SVT and '76 V4B. V4B cannot be converted to 240 so I bought external supply. I can;t imagine having ext. supply for 300W SVT

before my MTI got converted to 240V, I used an external converter, it was not big and it weighed not much.
It supported something like 800-1000W

Boroman, you sent me a PM but you have receiving PM messages turned off in your profile. You need to enable it in your setup, then send me another PM saying that you have made the change so I can reply.
