Ampeg SVT Pro 4 is US made better?

I got offered a deal on an older 4 Pro. It's made in the US and I was wondering about any sound or quality preferences. I know there is some debate among the CL, head and Pro 2 crowd but I've never heard much about the 4.

They're all basically the same, however, the USA models seem to have better resale.

I'd put it thru it's paces pretty well before buying - the 4-Pro doesn't have the greatest reliability track record going for it...

I had 2 4PRO's - USA and Vietnam. Not a difference between them.

Until another bass player pointed it out, I never realized my 4 Pro was made in Vietnam. Never a problem in 4 years. I am sure the Vietnamese factory workers are just as disgruntled as the Americans. /sarcasm off... However, my used SVP 1600 (4 Pro power amp section) did have to go in for repair after it conked out. It is American made. These things just need lots of air, and that's a little tricky in a rack as they are side vented.
