Ampeg SVT-VR bridging question.

Hey guys, first post here. I just purchased an SVT VR head, and I've been doing some research about bridging channels. The only thing I could not find was which kind of cable to use to patch the two channels? Should I be using an instrument cable or a speaker cable? Any input is appreciated, thanks!

Instrument cable, or I use a small patch cable that you get to go between pedals.

Definitely instrument cable, the shorter the better.

Never use an unshielded cable for anything but amp to speakers.

Instrument cable, but my tech personally felt it's not necessary, and doesn't provide enough benefits when considering things that may potentially go wrong.

Is there any down side, or any reason why I shouldn't bridge my VR?

No real downside. You can dial in awesome tone with either channel, but you can do goofy stuff like pseudo-biamping when you bridge.

i think "bridging" is the wrong term here (i clicked this thread expecting to see a paitent explanation that the VR is a tube amp with one power amp section, and thus can't be bridged).

you jump input channels, you bridge power amp outputs.
