Ampeg SVT VR cab match?
I just scored an Ampeg SVT VR in great condition and am looking for the best cab to match with it, thoughts?...:hyper::help:
a bergantino 610 or 412 if you can track one down. fridge slayers.
thank you, appreciate the input...
Pretty hard to beat the 8 10e. Hope you own a truck lol.
At least a cab coming with moderate number of Z at resonance.
I use mine with my Dually 215 but I just picked up an 810E and oh man...
It's almost like they were made to go together.:D
I was afraid of that husky 123...
I run mine through an 810 or a 410HLF. Sometimes together. They sound killer together.
Honestly, there are just too many variables to tell _any_one what the best cab is for a head.
Consider some tonal factors:
Style of music
Volume of music
EQ and gain structure at the head
What frequencies you need to hear to cut thru the on-stage racket/din
Whether the speaker will be pointed at your head or your legs
Whether vintage look or brand allegiance is important in your band or style
There are more variables...
I like it with the regular 810e, and it matches with the 810av (same cab with different cosmetics), but THE cab to get tonewise is the Heritage 810e. Have not heard a cab that good since the original flatback SVT 810.
I bought a Heritage to go with mine and I have the best bass rig I could imagine. It leaves me wanting zero. I don't look in the classifieds for amps anymore so I'm halfway there.
It's a match made in heaven with the VR. Bigtime! And it's pretty easy to move around too!
keep hearing Bergantino...
Ampeg SVT410he....2 of them.
8 ohm, sealed cabs. Can be separated for small gigs or together for a "fridge" (in size, essence and tonality). Way easier to transport too.
What better to pair an amp with than it's matching cabinets?
Does the heritage 410 have the same emminence drivers in em as the her 810 and do they sound as good(only half I understand) as the heritage 810?
The 410 uses a 130W LF driver, probably 16Ω wired in parallel. The 810 uses a 32Ω 100W 10" driver.
Thank you, gentlemen for your input, I played the Ampeg thru an Ampeg 410 HLF, wanted to wring it out, but held back when I started getting a farty thing happenin. Thinking of snagging a Berg CN 212, gonna test that in a couple of days. Anyone else wanna chime in with suggestions, feel free...
I own both the Heritage 810 and the NV610, and have used both the with my VR quite a bit. I know it may be sacrilege to say it, but the NV610 puts my tally-whacker in the weeds every time. It just has a girth that the Heritage does not. At least to my ears....
Didn't someone post some sound clips of this very thing a bit ago?
