Is it possible to remove the front grill cloth on these cabs? There are two nylon tabs at the bottom but I'm not sure what they're for..

they're for removing the grill, but it's still a giant pita. i had to take a screwdriver, stick it in a tab, and twist it and use the lip of the cab as leverage to pop the grill off the velcro tab that holds it on. i would advise putting a thick cloth over the lip of the cab, though, since you can damage the tolex and/or dent the wood.

thought about asking ampeg on facebook, but this method works for me, so i use it.

To remove a grille, when it's just a nylon tab I use A pair of Vice-Grips. When it is a loop, I've used a screw driver and pulled on each side of the loop. Kind of like what Jimmy said.

I've also used a tool similar to this where you loop a cord through. It's easy to build one on your own. SNAPPER SLIDE PULLER

Removing front grill...

We looked at one of these in GC yesterday and I didn't like the cover and they popped it right off so I could see how it was all attached. Decided to purchase a black grill cover and resurface it.
