Ampeg SVT3 Pro question old vs new

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,
I have a question. What year did Ampeg SVT 3s change? I had a badass one that I bought back in the early 90s that was American made. I believe it was 350watt and had the old blue script logos. It was a great sounding amp. Ive played the newer ones and theyre just not the same. What year did they change to the newer 450watt version? Where are they made now? How much do the old ones go for and are they hard to find? Does anyone here have one they would want to trade or sell? ;-)
Thanx,
Mark

There were SVT-III, and there are SVT-3PRO.

The latter are the "newer" type that you don't like, and they came out in about 1998. The SVT-III came out in about 1993. Both are hybrid types with tube pre and SS power amp, the 3PRO being mosfet.
