Price wise, it sounds high. I bought a SVT450H for $750 new. So this one should be priced lower, how does it sound is the next step.....read the reviews on Harmony Central and you'll find that this amp isn't all that powerful, sounds like the pawn shop is trying to get top dollar for it.I'd shop around for a better deal on a better amp.maybe ebay, I bought for $350an Svt400T on the bay and it was a fair deal, nothing great but not a rip-off either....................

350h is the exact same innards as a B2RE except in SVT clothing. If it's your thing than go for it. Definitely wasn't my thing but some people seem to like it a lot. This amp with a odb-3 actually sounds decent, or a sansamp in front of it.

You can usually find them in the $249 - $299 range. $350 seems to be on the high end.

Yeah, price is a little high, and the amp is certainly not one of Ampeg's better models. Keep looking, (and reading the amps forums for further amp education.)

Make an offer on it... they'll either accept or not... I recommend offering $250 for it as well...

It's a good amp. I used it's predecessor (200T) for several years. The graphic EQ makes it easier to dial in the room than the one I used...

It's potent enough with more efficient drivers and cabinets. I hated the Ampeg 2x10 I used with it. Thought it was the amp 'til I built my own cabinets (4 TL cabs w/ EV drivers). 350 watts at 4 ohms should be enough for most sits, unless you like it extremely loud, low and clean... You should be able to get 2 outta 3!

I wouldn't pay that much for it. It's not very powerful, and very bland as far as tone...not sure how else to describe it, just didn't do anything for me.

Agreed on all of the above - I wouldn't pay more than $100 for one of those, but that's just me...

I use one on a regular basis into a 4-10 for years . It's an ok head. It does the job but it isn't a tone monster. I'd go as high as $300 for it . Nothing more.

I have an Ampeg 8x10 cabinet with a Behringer Ultrabass 4500h head right now. I hate the goddamn head and I wanna get an Ampeg head. I have the 115T combo and it's nice and warm and I played on a few Ampeg heads and they were like a freshly baked pie.

I played through one durring a pre-production session and didnt think it was THAT bad.

On the otherhand, I had a B2R and didn't like it one bit. So, take that for what it's worth....

I think your money would be better spent on a sansamp of VT bass pedal than a B2RE. VT bass will give you the ampeg sound at a fraction of the price. B2RE barely gets the ampeg sound.

i've had the SVT350 and the B2RE. I was able to get a very nice sound out of the SVT350 using an MXR M80. I was running it trough a 4 ohm BSE410HLF cab and achieved some very decent tone and low end. I actually really liked that setup but it was heavy for a half power half stack. I use the B2RE with a POD XT now. The B2RE does not have the same tone and is just barely in the ampeg family. However, it's pretty clean and has a nice moderate power amp. With the POD I get the tone I want.

To the OP: $350 is a lot for a 350. $250 is fair. I paid $200 for the one I had but it was in less than perfect cosmetic condition.

I had one as a backup to my mesa400+ and b15. Tone leaves much to be desired. Sounded sterile in my opinion. I got it in a trade... I got it because I had two amps I wanted to get rid off. I should have kept them looking back. As far as power I ran it with my powerhouse 1000 cab and never seemed to have any problem with headroom, then again I never pushed it. Again I wouldn't pay more than 200 for it.

No, it's the B-2R.

The SVT-450H is the same as the B-2RE.

You're welcome. Any time...

I had one of these a few years back, the only reason they're priced so high is because it's in a CL style case. It's not a bad head for lower volumes but in the end I sold mine for $200 which I found to be a decent deal. For $350 though there's definitely better deals out there. Good luck!
