That is very true.
Saying you have a 1000 watt amps sounds cooler though

even if it only puts put a true 700 watts you should have plenty of wattage. I have a 7 Pro on the way., Cant wait to get a 810 to use with it.

Not true about bypassing the preamp to make it hit 1000. They did it both ways and it hit the mark each time.

Who is they?
I just had a look and tek diver got close but not quite. And he had a good power supply.
It is interesting how much lower BGM's results were.

Tekdiver and his friend who's not on here. And he had 118v as opposed to the 123 or 124 that BGM had.

I read it. He also said this after his results post

I love the tone and the look of the SVT-7 Pro. It is certainly possible that I made a mistake somewhere, even. I don't think I did, but can't discount the possibility - just trying to be fair and unbiased here.

Makes me not really take it as a conclusive test result. You can choose to believe what you want though. 960 watts will sound no different then 1000. the 750 or so the BGM got you notice a wee difference in volume but not much. It is stupidly loud either way. It's just a pity ampeg fudged the numbers a bit

The wink means it was a joke, tongue in cheek

Sorry for going on about it for two years. Who would do that? .

I've just switched from a 4pro to a 7pro... This 7 pro is really loud, and sound dirtier, closer to the SVT classic to me than the SVT4pro that sound cleaner, to me again. The gain structure is also really different... I use it through a 610hlf cab and it's a cool option between a 410hlf and a 810...

To me the 810 lack the tweeter, but sound good anyway... Both 810 and 610 have more low mid than a 410HLF (which I also have and gig some time), which have more extreme lows...

I think for the AC/DC sound the svt-7pro would do a good job... paired with 810 would be the closer to the AC/DC sound...
