Test results for the 7Pro from the Bass Gear Magazine, on-the-bench test.

At 8ohms, .... 457 watts continuous

At 4ohms, .... 763 watts continuous

I believe these are marketed as 1000 watt amps, so where's the thousand watts?

The rest got sold to TC for their "450 watt" amp?

Is there a handy-dandy direct link to the article?

Sound silly? Yep.

This might work if you're on a phone. http://btpub.boyd-printing.com/iphon...2Findex12.html

Easiest way to get there is from the link in TomBowlus's sig. Most pages I can link to desktop style for everybody from my Evo but that one goes straight to an iphone app.

Better?

Just a reminder to folks who may have an axe to grind here....if you want this thing to last and garner any attention at all...be civil to each other....focus your hostilities at the proper target, that being the corporation who's trying to sell you 75% of what they're charging for and NOT other Talkbassers.

I wonder how many of their other products they are dishonest about.

Anyone want to take the initiative to post the article link and ask the question on their Facebook wall for visibility?

Edit: For the record, Ampeg took care of me by swapping out my entire Micro VR rig with a PF350 and 2 PF115HE cabs. Ampeg support took care me. However I don't believe they ever really fixed the design defect of the Micro-VR. They just reduced the gain so you couldn't make it crackle anymore and only on a case by case basis. Like me some Ampeg, don't care for the corporate Loud shenanigans. Why did I go into detail? I don't think they are going to be able to drag this one out.

Yes. I did. I'm happy to.

I recently had a problem with a product as it was delivered to me (Shipments of fruit, not matching the description AT ALL), and the company in question brushing it off (it was a gift, the buyer got a friendly 'no dice' to her inquiry). I posted to their FB wall in a friendly way but to let them know that I was quite disappointed with what had come (twice!) and how below standards and not matching description. The company proceeded to send me a letter saying they would send me a replacement, that it would be as originally ordered and there would be no substitutions in an effort to make amends. Sometimes being friendly, yet up front (in public) works.

As I just posted in the TC thread, both the Micro-VR and the vintage SVT were found by BGM to put out more power than advertised. So it may not be as widespread as one may think (or hope?).

I'm glad that someone's catching these yahoos rating their amps incorrectly. I hope they keep up the great work and we can hold all manufacturers to a standard for accuracy. It's not going to solve the 'apparent loudness/ perceived volume' issues with voicing/filters, etc., but it would be a good start to know that you are getting the wattage that you paid for....

No more acceptable than TCE being dishonest about their heads. It would have been much better to advertize this as a 750 watt amp.
