Ampeg SVT810 vs. Ampeg SVT410(x2)
I am thinking of selling my Ampeg SVT810 (the refrigerator) and getting 2 Ampeg 410's. (already have one) .
Because the car I'm driving isn't really big enough to lug the fridge around.
Does anyone know of any differences in running the one 4 ohm 810 cab vs. running two 410's (8ohm cabs) ? Im pushing it with an SVT4
Just wondering if there is any loss of dynamic or low end ?

So long as you're talking about the 8 ohm sealed SVT 410HE cabs, yes, they are half the SVT810E cab each, and combined, will be just like the 810. Don't mistake them for the 4 ohm SVT 410HLF, which is a whole 'nother thing.

They're pretty much the same sound, as they use the same speakers and have the same approximate cubic volume as the 810e.

Thanks. I was hoping for that. :)

I went from an Ampeg 8x10 to two 4x10HEN cabs years ago, and I prefer the two smaller cabs over a single bigger one. Mainly because they stack up a little taller (especially on casters), giving better ear-level projection on stage. Having the option of carrying only one cabinet is nice, too.

I have the 810, as well as a set of 410HE's. If I dont have help loading the 810 out from my house, I just take the 2 410's and stack em. I use a SVT 4 Pro commonly.
