Ampeg SVT810e,please help me fast !!

Sign in to disble this ad
I might buy a SVT810e tomorow, it says on the jack plate 2007 Loud Technologies, made In China, The cab is in mint cond.

I would like to know if those Loud Tech Made in china are good cabs cause I know that there are some `darker years`¨ in the history of svt810.

Don't need some company bashing here, i'd just like to know if i may look for another svt810.

Also, i would like to know what you guys think of my Genz Benz GBE 750 feeding that fridge....good mix ??

Thanks a 1000 times

IIRC, the very dark years were '00-'05. They switched to OSB cabs in '98 though. 2000 saw those speaker changes that made them too dark/boomy for most people. I'm pretty sure that's a decent 810 to grab. How much are you paying because you can find them for really cheap on the used market.

not so easy up here.....i don't know where they all went, but they don't turn up used as much as you would think...my guess is that they were converted into duck hunting/bass fishing boats....

My bad, I forgot there were other parts of the world than the US. I'm sure I'm not the first.

I'll try to do a search for a similar thread because I remember this being discussed about a week ago.

Here's the thread: Ampeg SVT 810 Cabinet Differences

According to JimmyM, I was about right on the timeframe.

In fact, some will kill me for that but i'm trading my Aguilar GS410 for it. My Aguilar is perfect but for what i'm doing now, the Ampeg will do the job better...talking about that tight bottom with low mid bump of a sealed cab for heavy rock played with a Stingray...you know

Honestly, I've never heard one of those '00-'05 cabs. I wouldn have suggested you check it out anyways if it was at a good price. Want to see my '98 810E I bought for $80, repaired* 4 speakers, and put 4 MOD10-50's in?

Get ready for it...

The only way I knew that the OSB cabs went back to '98 is because I can see all the sides of my cab.

*Repaired means I put index paper and rubber cement on both sides of cone tears. It's held up to a year of use without any problems. Dryer sheets among other things were suggested to me later but I'd already put paper on at the time.

If it's still in good condition, it's not a terrible deal. I wish I could get a cab like that for my 810.

done a lot of hands on research on the various 810's over the last year or two. i've played all sorts of 810e's on the road and the chinese cabs are as good as the best stuff slm produced in the early-mid 90's, and that was really good stuff. if it's a decent deal, i'd hop on it. and yes, a gbe-750 should rock it nicely. or angrily, as the case may be
