Ampeg SVTIIP Slide Pot - know where to get one?
I have an SVTIIP (made in '93) bass preamp with a broken slide pot in the eq section.
I've removed the damaged pot and found the markings "Alpha" (which I believe is the brand name) and the spec "B50K".
The pot measures about 35mm in length.
I called Ampeg and they no longer stock it. I've done some Googleing and I can't find the same model.
Any help would be appreciated.
Might try these guys http://www.lselectronics.net/ and see if they can help or point you in the right direction. I believe a couple of the guys from the SLM Ampeg days still work there.
Thanks for the tips guys. I've ordered from Paul's link as the other one had a $30.00 minimum order to ship (they mostly deal locally).
Now to find a rubber tip to match the rest of them..?
Here is what they look like (not my photo):
Wow, now you want a rubber tip? Geez, don't be greedy!
Looks like a plastic automotive vacuum cap would be pretty close, at least from off stage?
With a dip in white paint, it may be the ticket.
I have even seen them in white already in the local parts stores before. I think they were in the "Help" catalog (misc trim/special parts) most stores had that line.
Just came to me, used for carb port caps and HVAC vacuum controls.
I will look into it soon. I think there are a couple of guys in the SVT-2 Appreciation thread who would like to know - if we find a close match.
