Ampeg v4-b

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I just bought a old ampeg v4-b and I want to plug two 8 ohm cab at the back of the amplifier. One in speaker and one in external speaker. It is writtent speaker jacks are connected in parallel.

I assume that I have to put the impedance switch to 4 ohm.

Am I right?

Thank
Simon

How to Hook Up Heads and Cabinets

Nothing will blow up and you'll push more air.

And be safe. I've actually seen a tube amp "blow up" live because someone didn't bother to make sure that the impedance levels matched. It never hurt anyone to be too safe.

tl;dr - Always make sure your switch matches the load.

(impedance of single cab / number of cabs) = total impedance

8/2 = 4
