Ampeg V4, cab matching/ohms, etc.

Long story short, been unable to keep gear to due being broke. Recently acquired very stable employment, so slowly and surly I will be building a rig. So far I just have an Ampeg B25 B 2x15 on its way. 4 and 16 ohm switchable. I want to find another identical one and stack them horizontally with a [vintage] Ampeg V4 powering them. If I set both cabs on 4 ohms, that will equal 2 ohms correct? Would that create any kind of concern to the well being of the amp and/or cabs?
Trying to go for some massive sounds.

No. An older ('70's) V4 has a 8-4-2 ohm switch on the back. Be sure to choose the right setting for each cab configuration as it affects the health of the output transformer.

Thanks!
So I'd select 2 on the head, and 4 on each cab?
I could also do an 8 on the head and 16 on each cab, but how much different would that sound?

Quieter, I'd imagine, but I have no experience with it. Good luck!

Shouldn't make too much difference, it's still 100 watts into 4 15's, but it's using different windings on the transformer, so maybe a little different.
