Ampeg VT-22 for bass

Possibly buying a VT-22 locally. I have done some research and know these are V4's in a combo. I have a B25B 2x15 on its way. Can I just unhook the 12" speakers and reverb from the VT-22 and use it that way? Until I can case it. I wouldn't play bass through the 12's anyway. Also, in the future I plan to get another matching B25B cab, stack them both horizontally for a "4x15". Stoner doom all the way.

Don't bother unplugging the reverb, just don't use it.

Yes, unplug the internal 12's, and then plug into your B25B.

Cool, I thought as much. Pretty straight forward.

isn't the b25b cab a 16 ohm cab? that might complicate things since the vt-22 operates at 8 or 4 ohms. i might suggest you rewire the cab for 4 ohms.

The amp is 2,4,8 selectable and the cab is 4 and 16 selectable.

Yeah, got one off of eBay, and has a selectable switch on the back.

i also have a '77 B25B cab (loaded with Eminence Delta 15A drivers) . It has a selectable impedance switch. (4 or 16 ohms)
Ampeg modded that cab in 1973. It is deeper and widther than the old model.
You can see that on the '73 Ampeg catalog:
http://www.ampegv4.com/pdf/Ampeg%20A...-%201973-4.pdf

i use mine with a '73 V4 (6550's modded) and a Tokai '57 pb replica. it sounds thunderous! better than with the SVT410HLF i had.

My only complaint is the weight and tall of that rig.
Do you think i can use my V4 with a SVT 210AV cab for small gig?

I think the first year wasn't but the later ones were all selectable. Mine is a 73 (speakers dated to early 73 anyways) and it has the series/parallel switch. I wired it for 4 ohm and removed the switch though.
