Ampeg115HE plus 410HE VS 810HE?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi.
Anyone here on the board whit experience having compared the 1*15" plus 4*10" combination vs a single 8*10" cabinett.
From what I think is that the 810 will play whit a bit more bite and gritt in the midrange frequenses than the classic full range set up of having one 115 plus a 410 linked together.
Im feeling lost now...advice please.
Cheers.

very interested to hear some of the responses, as I'm also looking at an 810. Not to stray off topic too much, but how about 2 410s vs. 1 810?

Opinions vary:

410 and 115, or 810?
810 vs. 410 +115 vs. 610 + 115 cab????
410 VS Two 210 VS Two 112 VS 810E for Hard Rock

I have a SVT410HE sitting on an SVT115E right now and I'd sure like to hear it against 8 10's. I'm thinking Jimmy might be right.
So, I'm thinking of picking up a second 410HE so I have 810 when I'd like it and a more portable rig when I don't.

jimmy IS right both killer cabs on their own, but together i don't like them nearly as well as two of one or the other.

IME, a 15 + 4x10 setup seems to have a hole in the mids, like a phaser pedal got stuck. Now, 8x10s deliver the real deal, with loads of volume and midrange punch and lows.

I personally use two 4x10 cabs for transportation, but I can't say I can tell any difference in sound vs my old 8x10. Both 410 cabs have tweeters, but I use them very little.

Please don't use an svt410he and svt15e together. The less people that use this setup , the less people will sound like me!!

I loved my ampeg 410he stacked on top of another 410he. So freaking killer!!!
I don't rock the two 410he's anymore BUT I have since acquired a svt115e that sounds awesome as a stand alone bass cab (as long as I'm not playing death metal).

The 810 will also be easier to move IMO. I'd rather slide it one of the vehicle, and roll it in than have to dead lift two seperate cabs.

I found out that it kinda depends where you're transporting them. If you gotta move up or down staircases then the two 410he's are easier to move but if you are on flat land and don't have to move much then the 810 is for you. Also it's more fun having two cabs than one. Sometimes you'll just be jamming with some friends and carrying a 810 is over kill but you'll always have that options with two 4x10's. That was my experience.
