Amplifier/Cab wattage question...

Sign in to disble this ad
Just bought a Mesa Boogie 2x10 powerhouse (600watts @ 8ohms). I, for some reason, forgot that the head (Gallien Krueger 1001RB-II) I wanted to pair with the cab runs at 700watts...but I believe this is at 4 ohms. So, would I be able to run this head with the cab at 8 ohms reducing the wattage in half (or at least enough to make it usable without worrying about blowing it out)? Sorry if this is obvious!

I think that at 8 ohms, that amp is 480 watts. (I have one, but never use it)
