Hey guys, first post here. I'm looking for Amps with a built in overdrive effect sort of like the ones with the Hartke Hydrive 115c model and around that sort of price range (£400-£500) What can you guys reccommend?
I did like the 115c but I noticed that there was a rattle in the amp whenever I played the first 5 frets of the E string which wasn't too great. Can anyone verify if this is a common problem or if it was just a freak occurance?
Like I said any other amp suggestions are welcome though, I wanna try a few. |

The VB-2's OD channel is one of the worse sounds I've heard (from soundclips, never played one). |

With my Eden cab it sounds bad with all of my basses. With my Orange cab it sounds great with most of my basses. I use the footswitch & only use it when it is needed. If you keep it turned down it will give a great volume boost when needed too.

Any pedal suggestions would be great too. | There's typically nothing magical about an OD circuit in an amp versus an OD circuit in a pedal other than the physical location of the circuit. There are tons of different circuit variations. They're as different as.... snowflakes! Basically, don't rule out an OD because of what it's housed in. Play around with as many as you can find and you'll invariably find what you're looking for sooner or later.

Aguilar AG500. | My Mesa M2000 has a high gain switch, also accessible thru the foot pedal board.
these are older amps and maybe more affordable for you.
