hi, can someone give me some advise on what amp i should get for playing with my band we only will be playing talent show etc.... the amp that i use now is a roland mirco cube rx and this would not be great for playing with a band so does anyone know a good amp that will sound good and is not very expensive and also is behringer a well known brand of amps and are they good? |

How big of amps do the other guys in the band have? How big of an audience, 50 people? 500 people? Will you be able to di into the PA or does the bass rig have to carry the whole place? The more info you give, the better answers you'll get. |

But it may be too big for your needs. Or too small. The thing about this particular model is it can carry a decent sized room without going through a P.A. system but if you want to run it through a P.A. you simply plug a mic cord into the back of the amp, plug the other end into your P.A. system and you're good to go that way too. It also has a built-in tuner and some decent sounding effects. Not the cheapest combo you can find but one of the better built ones and should last you a long time if you take care of it.

| | | | well i have looked around and i have found a behringer bxl3000 for 155 euro which is cheap but im not sure because i have also seen a peavy tnt 115 and a peavy max115, which of these would sound the best with a fender reissue jazz bass usa and i would probablly be playing at one stage during the year 500 - 650 for talent show in school |

the KXR is actually a keyboard amp (basically the bass amp with reverb) - i use
one of these for a practice amp and love it! |

The older Peaveys have a reputation for being heavy as h*ll. They also have a reputation for being almost bulletproof. Toss one down the stairs, whatever's at the bottom of the stairs will be flattened...but the Peavey will still work. While tone is subjective, many a gigging musician has made quite passable music with their Peaveys.
Nope I'm not affiliated with Peavey, just been using them for 30 years. On the rare times I've needed their customer service, it has been exceptional. So I have been extremely satisfied with them and I ignore the snobs who put them down . |

like nashville bill says, check craigslist. GC used will have decent price drops on their stagnant inventories of used gear...you might even be able to start a wtb thread in the classifieds and find a nearby TB'er with something up your alley?? |

| | | | I would suggest using a WorkingPro 2X10C. I use Peavey now but before that I used SWR. Both Peavey and SWR have great amps. Stay away from behringer!!!(Your better off just burning your money) |
