Are amps supposed to do this?

Sorry if this is a noob question. Well recently I purchased a Fender Rumble 350 and I really like the sound I'm getting but there's like one problem. When I turn it on I hear like a tiny little motor running or like a fan like sound. Its only noticeable at like really low volume but I just want to make sure that it ain't something serious. Are all big amps like this?

It's a fan to keep everything cool inside. You're good.

It's likely the cooling fan. It's supposed to run to keep the amp cool and most of them make some degree of noise. If your ears are perked up playing quietly in a dead studio, you'll hear it as will you when you first turn it on. If you're playing loud enough to keep up with a drummer and guitar player/keys/vocal/horn/distortion or whatever else, it's a non-issue.

If your hear the cooling fan come on, it means that no matter what other crazy stuff may happen that night, your amp overheating is not going to be an issue....you'll likely have plenty to deal with other than that.

Now that I checked it it indeed said it has a fan in it. I just hate reading manuals though cause many of them just suck so I just end up trying to find out things on my own. Haha

Thanks everybody for your replies!

RTFM Read The Flipping Manual.

Take it with you to the washroom Throne and fill your mind while you empty your body.
