any changes i should make to my tone

im using a schecter omen 4 and a Ampeg ba-115, im trying to get more of a mark hoppus jason newsted tone

To my ears you need a bit of grit in there. Right now you have a very clean tone.

should i look into over drive pedals? would that give me the grit?
