Any Eden Fans tried Ampeg PF500/PF115HE

I have been using an Eden WT330 with a Bag End S15D or sometimes a D210xst. Wondering if just buying the new Ampeg portaflex amp and speaker would give me that nice smooth, round sound I currently get with the Eden and a Bag End in an easier package to transport. Maybe even a better 'old school' thick sound.
(I would have gone back to Ampeg a long time ago (used to use a V4B and SVT cab or a B15N) but it was all very heavy.)

Thanks

The PF heads are nice. I rehearsed with the PF-350 tonight sitting on an Avatar SB112. Great sound. Don't know about the cabs but some here have said they rattle a bit. Maybe it was just a minor flaw or shipping damage.
Honestly something like the Avatar TB153 with the PF-500 would be ideal. They're gonna be gone soon so BUY ONE NOW!!

Can I answer as an Eden hater?

I think the PF heads sound better than any Eden head I've ever played, and I've only tried the 210 cab, and it sounds pretty B-15ish to me, so for me that is winnage. Still dying to try the 115, but nobody has them around here. But the real sweet spot in the Ampeg SS/hybrid lineup these days in the SVT 7 Pro. Closest I've ever heard a hybrid get to an all-tube Ampeg, and they can get scary close these days. The PF heads are great, but man, that 7 Pro...I can see why it's $400 more than the PF500. Overkill if all you're going to run is a 210, though.

Well, this week I was out in Tucson (for family stuff) and went to Rainbow Guitars ( a great old time music store with a lot of good instruments and amps and a laid back atmosphere) and was able to try a PF500 with a matching 1x15 cabinet. Grabbed a reasonably well set-up new American Precision (not quite my '61 P but it was pretty good) and I have to say, it was great!! Reminded me of my 2 old B15N's I had years ago. Easy to dial in different sounds. Great stuff.
Now I know why a lot of you folks are raving about them. May be time to re-think the Eden/Bag End combo.
