Anyone know of a good company with 12" 4ohm bass speakers?

I guess I just needed a reminder of what was out there. I was looking for something with durability the most. I've used Carvin, and have been happy with them, but their 12" is 8 ohm only.

Right? | Again, unless you must have 4 ohms because its a tube amp that can't use 8, or you have a very anemic amp, there's no reason to use a 4 ohm cab. If you have a tube amp you should be able to run 2 ohms. I wouldn't do a 4x12 either, it's a poor form factor. Do two 2x12, vertically aligned. |

I guess I just wanna get more power out of any head I use, or am I just pissin' in the wind like you've said 2 times before.

That amp already can put out more than most any pair of cabs can make use of. Forget about the whole 4ohm/more power thing. |

If a 2x12, then get 2 4 ohm speakers and wire in series, or 2 16 ohm speakers and wire in parallel, leaving your cab as an 8 ohm cab, then you can add another cab now or later if needed, which will take you to 4 ohms when the cabs are in parallel. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
