I did a search and it doesn't look like there are many of us around these parts.
Just got my CL 152 this week and am gigging with it this weekend in my Rolling Stones tribute band.
I'm interested in any war stories, good or bad from any other owners.

I removed the grill last night to take a look inside, and the first thing I discovered was how strong the velcro is that they use to hold the timber grill frame to the cab. There is a small cloth tab at the bottom of the grill, held on by 3 or 4 staples, and the tab came off in my hand while pulling on it to get the grill off. Easy fix with a staple gun, but the cloth tab is underengineered compared to the velcro used to hold the grill on.
The only slight annoyance is how "sticky" the rubber feet are, which makes it almost impossible to slide the cab on tiled or timber floors. Yes, it's a light cab, but in a tight space where you can't get your hands onto the handles (eg. on stage where your rig is wedged next to a guitar stack, sometimes you need to push/slide your cab the last few inches to position it.
Apart from that, the cab sounds great in a practice environment, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs live on the weekend at gig volumes.

It's definitely an old school sounding cab. I normally dial the tweeters out of my SWR cabs, but on the CL152 I left the tweeter switched in to give the cab a bit more dynamic range.

I dig this cab also.
Played one with a Markbass R500 head.
It sounded very old school, in a good way.
Great P-bass with flats tone.
Weight was not bad if I remember, around 70 lbs. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
