Any thoughts on very Old Traynor YB-18A Cab?

Anyone have any experience on very Old Traynor YB-18A Cab?
It's a huge beast. Since it's only 100 watts I was thinking about pairing it up with another cabinet (probably Yorkville 4x10 or possibly Ampeg 15 inch B series) with either my YBA-200, YBA-3 or Bassman 100 head.
Just wondering if anyone has direct experience with this old boy? My only reservation at this point is that it only handles 100 watts (and I don't plan on moving it very much so it's size is not much of a concern).

Cabinet Type
1x18" bass & PA horn

Power
100 Watts pgm 8 Ohms

Features
A single 18" Celestion in a folded "W" horn box

Years Made
1970 - 1972

Comments
Originally designed for Pete Traynor''''s concert sound contracting system (1969 - 1971), the YB-18A was usually sold with the YBA-1A or in pairs with the YBA-3.

I used to have 2 of those plus 2 Traynor 8x10s a YBA 300 & a couple of outboard amps (we were doing outdoor/ballroom/auditoriums). I remember it having good tone... and not a LOT of low end, but things are kind of fuzzy from back then.

I wouldn't buy it now if that's what you are asking.

But if you already have it and like how it sounds, only want to make it louder; then I would try to find another one of the same 18" cab

a modern 410 would be over kill to pair with that vintage 18
15 of the same vintage would be a better match

I bought a similar cab in 76 but it also had 2 8's in front and had a Cerwin Vega 18 in it. Ran it with a V4B. When I think of how many miles I hauled that thing.....

Yeah, spkr technology has come a long long way since that bad boy's day. Any 410 you pair it with would make it moot, and un-hear-able. Same for the 15" Ampeg you mentioned. I'd pass on that, unless it's free. Even then, I'd only use it to prop a better cab on top of it.

Agreed. You won't get a whole lot out of it you can't get with less ancient gear. Is the speaker that old? Might be ready to disintegrate...

Traynor YB 18A

I found one of these babies recently. The cab is in good shape and even the original screen and Traynor Logo. The Owner Hsd re loaded this Monster with an 18 inch Peavy Black Widow 300 watter. This thing is Awesome!! I have an Ampeg 410HE on top and just a SVT3 PRO 450 watt head. Stand Back!! LOL Real Deep Bass that resonates and you can feel it. Not like a sub or a sealed front firing 15. It Sounds Huge! I also have an Ampeg 15E as well that fits in my Suzuki! When I can? I bring the YBA 18...I seldom need Pa support
