any way to wire two 8 ohm cabinets together so that they act as a single 8 ohm load

I have two 8 ohm cabinets that I would like to run together through a GK backline 250 that specifies an 8 ohm speaker load.

Is there any way to connect the cabinets (series/parallel??) so that the amp saw the two cabinets as a single 8 ohm load. Is this possible?

No. Your options are 4 or 16.

will33 is right. One variable could be the number of speakers in each 8 ohm cabinet, giving you possible options of changing the total ohms of the individual cabs and possibly ending up with the 8 ohm total to the head. Lots of scenarios with more than 2 speakers per cab. Just depends.

The cabs would have to be rewired to either 4 ohms each, or 16 ohms each.

Neither of which can be done.

In a 2 speaker cab totalling 8 ohms, each speaker would have to be 16 ohms (parallel) or 4 ohms (series). No way to make it 16 ohms or 4 ohms.

In a 4 speaker cab, each speaker is either 32 ohms (parallel), OR 8 ohms (series/parallel). Again - no way to make it 4 or 16 ohms.

Just like the rule that you can't make an 8 ohm cab 4 ohms, you also cannot go to 16 ohms from 8.
