I have seen many threads on this cabinet. i'm interested in getting one but my woodworking skills don't get past Construction paper and a glue stick. Plus I don't have the tools. Is there any one that builds these cabs?

Swift is going to be making cut kits soon; just add glue, brad nails (imho amazing for construction) and components. Might check the LDS thread for info on that.

Get the fEarful. I have two LS1503, that I now use for PA. I was'nt all that impressed with them as a bass cab, even with a 3015 woofer replacing the stock 15. From what I've read of the fEarful, it's miles beyond the 1503.

Any idea what one of those is going to run? I'm interested.

Right now I'm using a GB Neox 212T. I'm also having Don at LDS build me a 215 cab. Small gigs I use a Roland DB 700 combo, or an LDS built 112/tweeter cab.

Around .7 cubic feet of internal space, and a 6" midrange driver and crossover, and a different layout

Also, a half octave of low end extension, smoother mids with superior off-axis performance, and significant amounts of power handling (probably 50% more for anyone using a 5-string bass).

rpsands, I'm playing reggae, Latin (salsa ) and Jazz, would the 15/6 cover the Low end Reggae Dub style, and the tubby Latin ( baby bass) and clean and clear enough for jazz?

There is no better reggae cab I have ever played, and it has better mids (clearer and better off-axis) than almost any cab on the market. For playing a variety of different styles, it's the best cab you could imagine; super flexible.

Ballpark 500-600. Horn is not necessary but with my experience I would suggest everyone get it on an on/off switch.

Do you know if the crossover to the horn is still in play when the horn is switched off? I assume so, but it would be nice to be able to turn the horn off and retain the natural extension of highs from the mid driver rather than having the crossover stay in-line and act as a low pass for the signal.
