Anybody Using the Fender 215 Pro?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm in the market for a 215 cabinet, and am considering the Fender 215 Pro. I've searched, but there don't seem to be many reviews of this cab, even here on TB. The fact that I haven't seen too many used ones for sale either means that they were terribly unpopular, or they're so great that nobody wants to let theirs go.

Are there any current or former 215 Pro owners out there who can fill me in?

BTW, for all you bargain-hunting 215 fans, Fender has discontinued the 215 Pro, so there may be some good deals to be found in the near future...

I got one earlier this year. One of the best 215's out there IMO. I use it with a Fender Bassman 300, sometimes an old Sunn 200s. It really fills the room with nice bass, the rest of the guys I play with say it feels like they are completely surrounded with its presence when we jam. Very warm and bouncy bottom end, punchy (like knock you down) and with the horn turned on it can even do the modern sounding stuff. I actually made myself sick by standing too close to it the other night, I think it rearranged some of my organs! It sounds good at lower volumes too, but watch out it still will carry the thud down the street.
Built like it should last forever. I am vey happy with it.

When they were discontinuing the Fender Pro 410s, I also had a hard time finding reviews. I ended up getting a couple…

Suffice it to say that if they put a good blow-out price on the Pro 215s, I will have one.

I use the Fender 215 PRO. I've been gigging with it for about
one and a half years now. I absolutely love it. The tone and
power handling capability are beautiful.

I use it with a Fender Bassman 250 (sufficient power for most
of our gigs). If I need more power, I run the Bassman DI to a
Crown XLS1500 to the Fender 215 PRO.

A few months back, we did a small birthday gig for our
favorite bartender/cook (and future bus driver ). Instead of
breaking out our PA, we just ran the vocals into my amp's
aux inputs and through the 215 PRO with the bass.
Amazingly, it sounded great. This is not a recommendation
for use with vocals but the point is that the Fender 215 PRO
is very capable and versatile.
