Anyone ever gig with the Ampeg BA112

I know it's only 50 watts, I tried one today at guitar center and was blown away. It sounds amazing. Wondering if anyone ever got away with playing a gig with one of these.

I play in a 3 piece band by the way. Just bass, drums, guitar and vocals

I've used it before and have heard other bassists use one before for gigs and every time I've been blown away by the loudness and tone of that amp. I highly suggest it for small to medium sized bar/house gigs, but that's about it. If you can find one used it'll definitely be worth picking up, but don't expect it to cover all gigs.

I own one, and love it for what it is, but would never consider it suitable for a live gig, PA or not. But, I couldn't work with ANY bass rig that has only one speaker.

Gig? No. But I did use one once in a private improv session with a drummer, and was impressed mostly with its tone, but somewhat with its output as well. And I am by no means an Ampeg guy...

Still, it didn't have nearly the output that I really wanted. The only way I would even consider using one in a gig would be: 1) in a small space, at low volume; or 2) with a high-quality microphone right in front of it, feeding to the PA (DI too).

If you really dig the sound of the amp, you could run a line out into a more powerful amp and cab, or even a larger combo. Just throw the BA112 on top as a monitor.

The BA112 is a great sounding little combo but suited for only the smallest gig where competing with a drummer is not required.

Kinda surprised people are saying it's not loud enough. Perhaps I'm mistaking the BA112 for another combo (BA115 is the only one that comes to mind), but if it's the amp I think it is then it's pretty dang loud for what it is.

Once did a gig at an old folks home with a keyboard player who used one for left handed bass while I played guitar. It's a light duty amp but it's got a little wallop to it.
